The National Conference of  CCBI Commission for Bible and Catechetics

This year the CCBI Commission for Bible and Catechetics held its annual National Seminar at Vailankanni from 26^th Nov to 29^th Nov 2007. Most of the diocese had sent their representatives and so I had gone from the catechetical centre for Pune diocese.

The theme chosen for this year was for Bible: Bible in the new Evangelization - to re- dynamise the life of the Church with the Word through the power of the Holy Spirit and

 for Catechetics: Catechetics – a renewed perspective in the light of the Word of God.

The National Chairman for Bible, Most Rev.Soosa Pakiam and National Chairman for Catechtics Most Rev.Antony Devotta and regional Chairman for Bible Most.Rev.Soosai  Manickam  graced the occasion with their valuable presence. They also presented papers on the topic chosen.. They emphasized the need to deepen our life of faith based on the Word, empowered by the Spirit, and share it with others through SCCs. They also brought to the notice the need to have a formation which facilitates pastoral spirit in the youngsters in the religious and priestly formation.  The seminar was made alive with inputs, workshops and interactive sessions. At the end of the seminar all felt that there is a great need to focus on family catechism.

It was indeed an enriching experience for me to participate in such a seminar where we hear others sharing their rich experiences in the catechetical field. I also had a chance to participate in the Eucharist at the Shrine of Our Lady at Vailankanni and to entrust all of us and our mission in the maternal care of our blessed mother.
