Laying of the Foundation Stone of the New Building Project

On 4th October , 2011 when the Church keeps the Memorial of St Francis of Assisi, here at the Bandra residence of the Daughters of St Paul, in India, prayers were being offered to the Lord, as the Foundation Stone was being laid for the  the New Building Project.
As Sr Ancy John , our Provincial Superior presided over the programme,  Rt Rev. Bishop Percival Fernandez presided over the ritual of Blessing and led us into prayer invoking God’s blessings over the Building and all the works involved.  Sr Ancy gave us a briefing about the beginning and progress of the Building Project.  She then proceeded to lead us into prayer through very inspiring Prayers of the Faithful  prayed by various Sisters.
The sisters intoned the hymns beautifully and thus evoked the response of those gathered bringing about a  melodious assembly of singing Sisters, Priests and lay persons.  Besides the Provincial Superior of the Society of St Paul, Fr. Michael Raj and some of his Councillors, some of the other priests and brothers were also present to grace the occasion. Sisters from the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master also also graced this occasion. One of our Pauline Collaborators Mavis was also present.
The Prayer was organized in front of the Portico of the Chapel and after that all proceeded to the place where Foundation Stone had to be laid. In an urn were placed a New Testament, the relics of our Founder and Co-foundress, a Rosary and a tiny Statue of St Joseph.  These were laid onto the Foundation Stone.
The programme ended with casual thanks given by Sr Ancy, as she invited them to have tea and snacks.
