Thoughts from the writings, homilies, talks of Pope John Paul II
- Vocation is a gift of God, it is not about choosing, but being chosen, it is the response to a love thta precedes and accompanies.
- Do not let your hope die. Stake your lives on it! We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures, we are the sum of the Father’s love for us, and our real capacity to become the image of God’s Son.
- Peace is possible! It is possible becaue men and women have a conscience and a heart. It is possible because God loves each one of us just as each one is, so as to transform and make him or her grow.
- Christ is closer to us than we can imagine. He identifies himself with us, making us share his divine life and mission.
- Bear witness that the serious problems of today can be solved if we succeed in making Jesus Christ present among people.
- Jesus rejoices over the divine fatherhood. He rejoices because his task is to reveal this fatherhood, and he is pleased lastly because of a particular effect of this fatherhood on the childlike.
- Every true love supposes sacrifice and pain and lifelong commitment.
- Do not fear to take Mary as your mother on the journey of life! May Mary be a model for you of how confiding in her, of entrusting to her maternal hands every problem, every anxiety , every expectation and every project.
- My wish is that you will continue to deepen your awareness that Christ is our Way , our Truth and our Lofe (cf. Jn 14:26)
- Be witnesses of home: a hope that looks to the future without subjecting itself to numerous daily problems, but founded on the certitude of God’s presence
